Hanna & Nabeel’s Stunning Nikkah at Hilton Tampa Downtown
This nikkah at Hilton Tampa Downtown, for Hanna and Nabeel, was soft, elegant and full of joy. Hanna wore a powder blue and gold lehenga, Nabeel an ivory sherwani, and the stage was framed by white floral strands, blush roses and a glowing chandelier. As their Muslim wedding photographer in Tampa, we were honored to capture every moment, from the quiet minutes before the ceremony to the laughter once the rings were on.

A nikkah stage made for photographs
The Hilton Tampa Downtown sits at 211 North Tampa Street in the heart of the city, and its ballrooms are a favorite for South Asian weddings in Tampa. For Hanna and Nabeel’s nikkah, the stage was dressed in hanging white florals with a floral arch in white, blush and green, which gave us a bright, airy backdrop for both the ceremony and their portraits.

Hanna’s bridal look
Hanna chose a powder blue lehenga covered in gold embroidery, with a ruffled tulle hem that pooled beautifully on the stage. She paired it with a pearl jhoomar and maang tikka, gold earrings and choker, stacks of glass bangles and detailed bridal henna.
Nabeel matched her in an ivory sherwani with a pale blue pocket square, tying their colors together in every photo. Pastel outfits like these photograph beautifully against white florals, so we kept the edits light and airy to match.
Signing the nikahnama
One of our favorite details of the day: Hanna and Nabeel signed their nikahnama with white feather pens. We photograph the signing from a few angles, close on the hands and the pen, and wide enough to keep each of them in the frame, so the moment is told from both sides.

The rings and the veil
The ring exchange was full of smiles, with family gathered close around the stage. Before the ceremony, Hanna sat beneath a sheer blue veil, and Nabeel later lifted it in one of the most tender moments of the day. Soft light through the veil made these some of the most delicate images in their gallery.

Portraits under the floral arch
After the nikkah, we took Hanna and Nabeel for portraits under the floral arch and in their rose garlands. Every nikkah at Hilton Tampa Downtown runs on a ballroom schedule, so we keep these sessions short and relaxed, so couples are back with their guests quickly, and we guide poses gently so the photos feel natural rather than stiff.
We also look for quiet corners away from the stage, where a few minutes alone together give some of the most honest photos of the day. For Hanna and Nabeel, the floral arch did most of the work: soft, even light, and colors that matched their outfits perfectly, so we simply let them talk, laugh and enjoy the moment while we photographed.

Planning a nikkah at Hilton Tampa Downtown?
A few things that help when your nikkah or reception is in a downtown Tampa ballroom:
- Plan 20 to 30 minutes for couple portraits right after the ceremony, while the stage decor is still fresh.
- Ask your decorator to leave a little space behind the stage for the photographer during the signing.
- Share your family photo list ahead of time so group photos move quickly.
- If you want portraits outside, the Tampa Riverwalk is a short walk away; plan the hour before sunset for the softest light.
