Indian wedding at Gaylord Palms — bride and groom portrait by Noor K Photography

Some couples write a love story you can feel through the lens. Alisha and Kunal are one of them. Over four days we photographed an outdoor Sangeet under a Florida sky, a quiet Haldi morning, the seven pheras of the Hindu ceremony, and a reception that did not slow until the last song. Their Indian wedding at Gaylord Palms Orlando became one of our favorite weddings of the year — and here is the story their photographs tell.

The Venue: Gaylord Palms Resort, Orlando
Tucked into Kissimmee on the edge of Orlando, Gaylord Palms Resort is the only Gaylord property in Central Florida. We have shot enough multi-day South Asian celebrations here to call it a favorite — the four-acre glass atrium, the cascading water features, and the open-air terraces give us a different look for every event of the wedding weekend.

For Alisha and Kunal, every event from Sangeet to reception lived under one roof. No bus transfers, no rushed transitions. Just four days of being fully present with their families.

Outdoor Sangeet Photography Under a Florida Sunset

Their Sangeet was held outdoors, and that single decision changed everything we shot that night. As the sun dropped behind the resort, the light turned warm gold, then deep amber, then the string lights came up. Cousins led Bollywood-style choreography. Parents took the floor for slower numbers. Late in the night, Alisha and Kunal joined a final group dance that pulled both families into one circle.

Outdoor Sangeet photography is one of our favorite ways to open a wedding weekend. The natural light at golden hour is unmatched, and the energy reads completely differently from a ballroom — looser, freer, more honest.

Haldi Ceremony Photography: A Quiet Morning Ritual

The Haldi happened the morning of the wedding inside a private suite. Soft yellow saris, marigold petals, the warm smell of haldi paste — these are some of our most intimate frames of the entire weekend. Parents pausing before they apply the paste. Siblings teasing the bride. Grandparents quietly blessing the couple.

Haldi ceremony photography rewards stillness. We shot most of it from low angles to keep the focus on hands, faces, and the small ritual gestures that get lost when the camera moves too much.

Hindu Wedding Mandap Photography at Gaylord Palms

Alisha entered under a phoolon ki chadar held by her brothers, dressed in a red and gold lehenga. Kunal waited at the mandap, his sehra catching the light through the glass ceiling above. The pandit guided them through the seven pheras, the kanyadaan, and the mangalsutra ritual. By the time the sindoor was applied, both families were openly crying — and so were we, behind the camera.

What makes the Gaylord Palms atrium special for Hindu wedding mandap photography: full natural daylight without harsh sun. Photographs taken under that glass ceiling have a soft, editorial quality that uplit ballroom ceremonies cannot match.

Indian Wedding Reception Photography: Amber Light & First Dances

For the reception, Alisha changed into a deep wine gown and Kunal into a tailored sherwani-tuxedo hybrid. The room was lit in deep amber and rose, the bar stayed open, and the dance floor did not empty until the last song. After four days of ritual and family, the reception was their chance to exhale — and you can see it in every frame.

Indian wedding reception photography lives or dies by light. We worked with the room’s amber uplighting and shot at slower shutter speeds to let the colors saturate without losing sharpness on the dance floor.

Why Gaylord Palms Works for South Asian Wedding Photography

Choosing the right venue is the single biggest decision for a multi-day South Asian celebration. Here is why we keep recommending Gaylord Palms when couples ask us about Florida venues for their wedding photography:

Multiple ceremony spaces — indoor ballrooms and outdoor terraces — under one roof, so a four-day wedding flows without bus transfers between events.
The atrium photographs beautifully in any light: soft daylight in the morning, warm tones at golden hour, dramatic uplighting at night.
An events team that already understands baraat logistics, mandap setup, fire-permit handling, and dietary requirements without needing to be walked through it.
On-site accommodation for hundreds of guests — rare among Orlando-area luxury venues at this scale.
Roughly twenty-five minutes from Orlando International Airport, an easy ride for out-of-town family.
